Lesson
I offer private one-to-one guitar lessons based in Boston Spa, Wetherby and surrounding areas.
Lessons are suitable for all abilities, and are aimed at achieving your goals, focusing on what you want to learn. I teach from absolute beginners through to more advanced students.

I use my experience as a guitarist and teacher to make the most of your time in the practice room and make the experience enjoyable.
Having an experienced teacher with good communication skiils, who can help you avoid the common pitfalls and difficulties that lead to frustration and loss of motivation, will result in a fulfilling and rewarding learning process.
I teach a wide array of musical styles including Acoustic, Electric, Classical, Jazz, Folk and Fingerstyle guitar.
About Gareth Ward Guitar
I first picked up a guitar as a 10 year old and now have over 30 years experience playing and studying guitar. After 20 years of service in the NHS I decided to pursue my passion and become a full time Guitar tutor. My teaching experience has developed in the UK and the USA where I have taught private lessons and at a Music Academy in Bentonville USA. I play with a local jazz ensemble and have BA (Hons) in Music, and jazz performance diplomas from the University of West London and Berklee College of Music Boston. I love playing jazz and blues but also play classical, folk, finger - style and rock guitar. I provide private tuition to guitar students within Boston Spa and surrounding areas,
My Philosophy
Enjoy the journey!
Whether you have specific goals to achieve, or if you are not sure but just want to play music, I have a huge selection of materials and songs available to help your journey and improve your guitar playing.

Lessons are designed for you and while I have a structured method to my teaching, I will flex and adapt to your learning needs on a lesson by lesson basis.

For young students I usually focus on music that is suitable and of interest to them. I adopt a fun and structured approach, recognising that all young students have different learning methods that work for them, aiming to keep them engaged and loving music.

The main thing for me, regardless of age or level is that you enjoy the process of learning the guitar, whilst achieving your goals.
